Advanced technology

Has introduced improvements to former industry methods. Leer has learned to use the best of these advances. CAD system prints have replaced former drafting procedures and have enabled Leer to provide customers with needed drawings quickly and accurately.

Leer cold storage modular panels are built to last for years, but can be disassembled for moving to a different location. In addition, when a business needs more cold storage space, Leer panel structures can be expanded to meet new requirements. Consistency in panel construction means new or additional panels will be compatible with existing ones.

Flexibility is built into Leer panel construction. A wide choice of panel surfaces and finishes is available in addition to different panel thicknesses, configurations, and reinforcement. Door selections include swinging, bi-part, manual or electrical slide, and a variety of options that can be added to the door requirements.

SPECIFICATIONS

GENERAL - Walk-in coolers and freezers to be constructed with pre-fabricated modular panels formed as described below and manufactured by Leer Manufacturing Limited Partnership, New Lisbon, WI.

PANEL CONSTRUCTION - Standard panels are formed by two shaped metal sheets, separated by and bonded to foamed-in-place urethane to form rigid structural panels. All panels have urethane foam-formed tongue and groove edges with foamed-in-place, flexible vinyl gaskets to assure vapor tight panel joints.

INSULATION - 4" thick, class 1, rigid, foamed-in-place urethane* with a minimum density of 2 pounds per cubic foot. Panel insulation to have a "K" factor of .116, "U" factor of .029, "R" value of 34.5 and shall have passed the ASTM E-84 test for surface burn characteristics.

*Urethane insulation has passed UL 25 flame spread and 450 smoke rating to meet building codes in some areas. The rating is no indication of how urethane will act under actual fire conditions.

PANEL FINISH - Exterior and interior surface of all ceiling and sidewall panels is 26-gauge embossed aluminum/zinc coated steel. Floor surface is 14-gauge bright galvanized steel. Floor sections will withstand uniformly distributed floor loads up to 500 pound per square foot.

SCREEDS - Gray vinyl screeds, coved on two sides, are provided for walk-in coolers and freezers without a floor. The screed is 23/4" high and is fastened to floor by ram set or lag anchor (customer furnished).

CAM-ACTION LOCKING FASTENERS - All panel tongue and groove edges have steel offset cam fasteners located for maximum locking efficiency. A hex wrench is provided to lock the fasteners within the interior access holes. Vinyl caps cover the locking access holes.

ENTRANCE DOOR - All door are flush 36" x 78"' infitting and are located in 46" panels. Each door is insulated with foamed-in-place urethane to an overall thickness of 4". Side and top are fitted with a thermoplastic, bellows-type gasket with magnetic core. Bottom seal is adjustable double-blade rubber sweep gasket. Door threshold is 16-gauge stainless steel.

HARDWARE - All doors are mounted with heavy-duty chrome-plated, cam-lift, self-closing hinges. Each door has a lockable heavy-duty chrome plated latch and strike assembly, an inside Safety-glow TM knob release handle, and a hydraulic door closer.

THERMOMETER - Each door panel has a 2" digital thermometer battery operated. The temperature range of thermometer is minus 40.0 F to plus 120.0 F.

LIGHTING - Each door panel is furnished with an incandescent 100 watt vapor-proof light fixture, glass globe, lighted push button switch, and indoor/outdoor stainless steel switch cover.

ANTI-CONDENSATE HEAT WIRES - The door frame is fitted with a replaceable 115V aluminum braid heat wire.

PRESSURE RELI EF VENT - A 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" heated pressure relief vent is furnished for freezer applications.

ELECTRICAL - All wiring for heat wire, pressure relief vent, light and switch requires field connection to 115/l/60 - 3 amps (nominal amperage).

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS - An instruction sheet and assembly drawing are provided with each walk-in to aid in installation.

WARRANTY - Leer warrants original purchaser that panels are free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of ten years. Original equipment components (hardware, electrical items, refrigeration and accessories) are warranted against defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year. A four-year extended motor compressor warranty is also available.

N.S.F. LISTED - All walk-in coolers and freezers are constructed to meet rigid standards outlined in National Sanitation Foundation No. 7. The N.S.F. label is attached to interior door panel.

U.L. LISTED - The door and door panel is listed by Underwriters Laboratory. The UL label is attached to interior door panel.

PANEL FINISHES

GALVANIZED (STANDARD)

26-gauge, stucco-embossed steel with a G60 coating which provides a durable, long-lasting surface that minimizes scratches and dents. Can be used on either indoor or outdoor applications.

WHITE PREPAINT STEEL (OPTIONAL)

26-gauge, galvanized steel with G60 coating for painting. Baked-on polyester finish I1.80 mil. thickness. Appliance topcoat finish resists chalking and yellowing. Can be used on indoor or outdoor applications.

ALUMINUM (OPTIONAL)

.040, stucco-embossed aluminum. Maintains bright, new-looking finish. Embossed pattern minimizes scratches and will not rust. Can be used on either indoor or outdoor applications.

STAINLESS STEEL (OPTIONAL)

22-gauge, type 304-2B, non-magnetic steel. Provides maximum sanitation and a high degree of resistance to corrosion. Recommended for appearance and institutional usage. Can be used on either indoor or outdoor applications.

GLASBORD-P (OPTIONAL)

.09 fiberglass reinforced plastic withstands impact and abrasion. Resistant to moisture, mildew, and most stains and chemicals. USDA accepted. Meets requirements for flame spread and smoke development for all major building codes for indoor use.

PAINTED GALVANNEAL (OPTIONAL)

24-gauge, zinc coated steel which has been specially heat treated for painting. Custom baked-on polyurethane finish. Can be used on either indoor or outdoor applications.
