ARDCO ENERTECH DISPLAY DOORS
ENERTECH...technology that sells your products and saves you operating costs.
From the crystal
clear, condensate-free product display your customers see to the dramatic
bottom-line savings you'll see, no other doors outperform today's Enertech.
Visible Performance From An Invisible Gas
Every Enertech Door, cooler and freezer, features Ardco's exclusive Triple Pane Gas Filled Glass unit. Each unit is three panes of crystal clear glass separated by a spacer. Before each unit is permanently sealed, Ardco fills the space between the center and rear panes with a unique invisible gas.
The insulating gas allows the outer pane of glass to stay warm and condensation free. It also reduces the heat load on the cooler, enabling it to maintain temperature with lower energy consumption.
"NO HEAT" Cooler Doors
Enertech Cooler Doors, with Triple Pane Gas-Filled Glass, stay free of condensation up to 75% relative humidity in a store environment of 75 Deg. F and a cooler at 38 Deg. F. With most cooler doors, condensation usually begins to form when in-store relative humidity reaches 66%. This extra measure of protection is of particular importance during high traffic times and in stores where food is cooked or baked.
In the patented (U.S. Patent 4,741,127) Enertech Cooler Door, Ardco eliminated door heaters to dramatically reduce operating costs. Instead, low density, expanded polyvinyl chlorid (PVC) is used to insulate the aluminum door extrusion from the cooler's cold zone. The Enertech Cooler Door stays condensate-free where other doors require heaters in the door extrusion and reflective coatings or heated glass to do so.
In a comparison study of annual savings in operating costs for 10-door line-ups, the operating cost of Ardco's "NO HEAT"
Enertech Cooler Door System (doors plus frames) was $325 less than Ardco's Swingline 3TM Cooler Door System. Typically, in less than 10 months of operation, Enertech's lower operating costs pay back the difference between Enertech and Swingline doors. Beyond the premium payback, what you'll save in operating costs will pay for the entire Enertech door system within its useful life. Enertech Cooler Doors actually pay for themselves.

Freezer
Doors That Show Truer Colors, Sharper Graphics, Lower Costs
In the Enertech Freezer Door, the Triple Pane Gas-Filled Glass unit allows the outer pane of glass to stay warm and condensation-free with reduced wattage. Other energy efficient freezer doors use an additional coating on the glass to accomplish this energy savings. But that coating also causes a reduction in light transmission.
Tests by an independent laboratory found that, on a normalized basis, 15% more light is transmitted through Ardco's Gas-Filled unit than through freezer glass with reflective coatings.
Eliminating the reflective coating does away with possible visual distortions caused by non-uniform reflections. It also eliminates the coloration problems presented by the coating. Energy is saved and operating costs lowered without sacrificing product visibility, The result: whites are whiter, colors are truer, graphics are sharper ... frozen food packaging, overall, is more appealing to customers through an Enertech Freezer Door.

Low Energy Outer Frame And Patented Mullion
Both Enertech doors systems, cooler and freezer, use Ardco's low energy Thermal Gard outer frame. The Thermal Gard design reduces heater wattage requirements by 25% - 49% compared to previous models. It combines the superior insulating characteristics of rigid PVC moldings, dead air spaces and up-front heaters to provide a highly efficient barrier between the interior and front metal.
A significant feature of the frame is Ardco's exclusive, patented Tandem Mullion, In the front half of this unique design, Ardco engineers removed the typical energy consuming mullion "mass." This enables the mullion to operate condensate-free with less energy. The rear half of the mullion is a high strength, double wall, roll formed steel channel. Attached, yet insulated from the front half, the rear half strengthens the mullion and can also function as a lamp channel. The result: a patented frame extrusion that operates at the lowest cost, yet has superior structural strength through an advanced design.
Brilliant Lighting
Enertech low-energy cooler door frames are delivered with Ardco's bright and reliable 120 volt 800 Lighting System. For more brilliant product displays with reduced glare, Ardco offers its optional PowerLens Lighting System. This 120 volt system highlights every product on every shelf more evenly than traditional systems while lowering operating costs.
Standard for freezer doors is Ardco's cold temperature, reliable 1500 MA lighting system with cost saving Lektronic ballasts. Optional PowerLens Lighting System is also available.
Lamps and protective shields are factory installed. Lamps are 48", 60", and 72" lengths as appropriate to the door height and are available locally if replacements are required.
The Enertech System meets or exceeds operating and other standards established by the Commercial Refrigerator Manufacturers Association (CRMA), National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
